Miró 202: Wikipedian in Residence and Wikipedia Audit

Terrace of the Joan Miró Foundation (With Freedom of Panorama! :)
The Fundació Joan Miró (Joan Miró Foundation) and Amical Wikimedia have launched a process of reviewing and improving the content on Joan Miró on Wikipedia.

Previous step: Wikipedia Audit
As a first step , the Foundation commissioned a Joan Miró audit to Amical, in order to study the presence of Joan Miró and its Foundation on the Wikipedia Universe. The authors of this study, Esther Solé and myself (Kippelboy), analyzed the quality of content on the artist, reviewed the articles on works by Miró and have compared the status in all available languages, comparing it to similar artists and other relevant people. This way we have a resource to compare how the artist is seen on Wikipedia and the reach of it all.

Second step: Wikipedian in ResidenceFrom this audit, the art historian Esther Solé (User:ESM) has joined the Fundació Joan Miró as their brand new Wikipedian in Residence. Solé will coordinate and energize all actions to be carried out to achieve an increased accuracy of the contents on Wikipedia linked to the figure of Joan Miró.
Attached is the press release , which you can read more about this new phase of the process and on the previous actions of the Foundation maintain its determination to spread knowledge about Miro Wikipedia.

The world longest edit-a-thon: 35 hours in a row!

This project is not a one night shot. The Joan Miró Foundation collaborates with Amical Wikimedia since  2011, when we co-organized and edit-a-thon and included QRpedia codes on the exhibition Joan Miró. The Ladder of Escape, getting >1,2 millions of pageviews of related articles during the exhibit period. This commitment continued with a new action in April 2013: where they hosted the world longest edit-a-thon ever, 35 hours, to celebrate the 35th anniversary of Espai 13 (the contemporary art room of the foundation). The goal was to complete information about emerging artists who have been protagonists of this area of the Foundation. The Joan Miró audit and the Wikipedian in Residence is just the next step in the dissemination of Miró knowledge on Wikipedia, working close with the local community.
